The Amsler grid is a self-monitoring tool for eye diseases of the macula (part of the retina at the back of the eye) which is often used by eye specialists.
To do an Amsler grid test:
Open the app and use your password.
Once in the app, click on the eye at the bottom right of the screen to display the list of visual tests.
Click on the Amsler grid test and choose the eye you want to test.
If you wear glasses, put them on. Then follow the instructions to keep your head at the right distance from the screen.
Hide your non-tested eye as shown in the app then click on Start test.
Stare at the black dot and draw with your fingers any lines or spots that you see on the grid.
The Amsler grid test is in 3 parts, so the dot will appear to move after you complete each section, in order to complete the entire test.
Once you are done with drawing on the grid, click on Finish to end the test.
Your Amsler grid will then automatically be sent to a dashboard at your clinic. After you have done multiple Amsler grid tests over time, the specialists at the clinic will compare your new tests with previous one that you have done.
